In about a decade since opening its first location in 2003, K1 Speed has scattered go-kart tracks all over the American Southwest. Its original track in California spawned 19 others in the ensuing years, including one near 7 Seventy, and there’s no sign that the chain will stop expanding in the near future.
Its quick surge in popularity is thanks to K1’s environmentally-friendly electric go-karts, safe racetracks, and slew of amenities. Pro racecar-driver Boris Said co-owns K1 Speed, so he makes sure that guests get a true racing experience without the dangers of an actual track. Those customers who are just tagging along to chaperone a youngster can kick back in the pit cafe and have something to eat or claim one of the pool tables and play with a friend.
