Lengthy trails weave between the trees at Terry Hershey Memorial Park, making it a popular spot in Houston to go for a run when training for a race. However, that doesn’t mean joggers claim the entire space. To the contrary, the paths are big and long enough to accommodate any guest who wants to enjoy them, whether that guest is a runner, walker, or even a biker.
The paths are beloved by locals for the natural beauty that fringes them on either side. During your hike or stroll, you might encounter a beautiful pond, Texas blue bonnets in full bloom, or other instances of native plant life—and animal life, for that matter. If you happen to have brought your mountain bike along, you can even blaze your own trail and explore deeper parts of the forest. No matter your end goal, however, a break beneath a shady tree is always a good way to end your visit before heading back home to nearby 7 Seventy.
